• Check local weather and sea conditions before taking into the waters.

• Do not damage or remove the corals; These are living organisms that take years to form and are host to many rare and endangered species.

• Do not remove shells or any other sea flora and fauna.

• Do not buy shells and other marine life products as souvenirs as this encourages further destruction of sea products.

• Do not dispose litter on the beach or in the sea. This is illegal and environmentally unfriendly.

• Hand feeding fish is illegal as it disrupts their normal feeding patterns.

The coral life is rich with different varieties/ species; Acropora, Turbinaria and Porites. Other marine life include; crabs, sea urchins, jelly fish, snappers, groupers, surgeonfish and sweetlips. Sea grasses and marine algae life is also present. The birdlife consists of a variety of seabirds in large nesting colonies and internationally significant numbers of crab plovers and roseate tern. Visitors can enjoy are jet skiing, boat rides, sailing and windsurfing. For the water magic lovers, snorkelers and divers, the marine park is a great destination.

Mombasa Marine is surrounded by beautiful and breathtaking beaches. These include; Nyali, Shanzu, Bamburi and Kenyatta Public beaches.

Other unique and historic sites around the marine park include; Jumba la Mtwana, Fort Jesus, Haller Park and Shree Jain Temple among others.
